Classic Espresso Martini

Espresso Martini

The infamous espresso martini has taken a popularity flight over the past year, I actually only discovered how GOOD this drink was until just a few months ago and now I can’t stop making them!

It feels like such a luxurious drink and it only takes three ingredients and 5 mintues to whip up this cocktail. It’s flirty, bold, caffeinated and boozy and just bloody delicious ❤️

What is an espresso Martini?

Dick Bradsell once spoke the famous words, wake me up, and then fuck me up! And that’s how the Espresso Martini was born. This gorgeous cocktail is made with just 3 simple ingredients

Kahlua - A strong and sweet coffee liquor (Tia Maria will do just fine)

Vodka - For that boozy kick

Espresso - Because, duh

An Espresso Martini tastes just like a sweet iced coffee with a little kick of alcohol. These bad boys are so dangerousely easy to throw back, you’ve been warned my friends.

Some recipes call for simple syrup or the addition of milk or cream, but I like to keep them classic and simple because they just don’t need anything extra. Especially since the Coffee Liquor already holds enough sweetness, you don’t need the addition of simple syrup and I feel that’ll just make it overly sweet.

Plus! That makes them dairy free 👀

How to make a Classic Espresso Martini

Just as only three ingredients, there are also just three steps to this recipe

Brew your espresso - The whole cocktail will taste like coffee, so make sure you invest in a good cup of espresso! I always use my Nespresso machine and like to switch up the cups

Shake everything over ice - Ice Ice baby! You want this cocktial to be COLD while serving, simply add all the ingredients in a shaker with ice and start shaking

Strain into a glass and decorate it with coffeebeans - 3 coffeebeans that represent the 3 ingredients. The frothy top will hold the beans perfectly in place

Stay energised loves!
